Why am I awake?

I should be in bed sleeping. It's late. I don't usually stay up this late after everyone else is asleep, but I started reading stuff online and followed some rabbit trails and got lost in them a little bit. Suddenly, it's the next day. I would like to point out a couple of things before I lay me down to sleep though...one, it's midnight thirty. I'm sitting on my couch. I am sweating. It's that hot right now. This is the time of year on the isla when showering could easily happen four or five times a day. Actually, if someone would invent the never ending shower whereby one could go about the business of the day while feeling the refreshing spray of a cold shower, that person could make a lot of money. Two, younger people take a lot of pictures of themselves. By younger, I mean roughly 30 and under. There are a lot of random photo shoots happening with that crowd. They seem to get all dressed up just to take pictures of themselves. Did I do that when I was their age? Why don't I do that now? We went to a sweet sixteen party tonight. We left right as the karaoke started up. I've never done karaoke, but I had a strange urge to run up and start singing. Any of you ever sung strange songs in front of crowds of people before? Eli had a ballet show last night. There were four year olds doing salsa on stage. Jon and I last week set up camp's projector in the living room and then learned some salsa moves from YouTube. It was awesome. We felt pretty good about our abilities. Last night Logan pointed out to me that the four year olds danced a lot better then daddy and mommy. Sadly, I could not disagree with him.

  3. I like the idea of a perpetual shower! I am sure there are some down sides, like your hands looking like prunes all the time, but it sure would be refreshing. Excuse me while I go submit a patent application.
