Jon doesn't work, and we don't "do" school. Today there was a lot of reading, a lot of drawing, a lot of "Firework" by Katy Perry thanks to watching Madagascar 3 last night, and some tree house building that has been in the works for a while now. The kids were regaled with stories of the tree houses built back in the day by Jon and his friends. Tree houses that were five stories high and full of blue shag carpeting donated by some nice townsperson back when there were nice townspeople to donate things to neighborhood boys. They were very impressed.
Logan and I took Eli to Ballet later in the day and while driving around had an impromptu dance party at a stoplight while blaring "Eye of the Tiger". Logan stopped when the guy selling corn cakes on the side of the road joined in the dancing. He's such a shy little fellow.
Life has been relaxed and slow. Which is strange because we started back to school and dance and taekwondo and Spanish class and all that routiney routine stuff. Although compared to the craziness of summer, routine seems oddly nice.
