A story

Our balance is 0. ZERO. As in we owe nothing.  NOTHING! How did this happen you may ask yourself? If you aren't asking that and don't care, feel free to skip the rest of this post.
You may remember that in May of this year I wrote that we had eliminated about 75% of our debt.  We hoped by December to be free from all debt never to return.  Of course that meant that all of our money would be going toward the debt, and we would get by on very little.  That was the plan.

Then Jon and I went to Wisconsin for a combined wedding/church visiting/being with the parents trip.  The way God provided for that trip is a story all itself, but not this story.  We spent part of the trip cleaning out some things that were in the parents garage.  My old rocking chair, tools, old clothes.  Mom suggested we take Jon's boyhood coin collection in and maybe get a couple hundred dollars for it.  After all, it was just sitting in the garage doing nothing.

So we did.  It was very interesting, and I learned a ton about coins and mints and dates.  The guy at the shop knew everything apparently.  We sorted through thousands of pennies separating them by date. My hands smelled like copper and were black by the time we finished.

Then the intelligent man said these words...."We would like to offer you "amount of money" for your coins. What do you think?"

We said, "....."

He said, "Is a check OK?"

The amount he offered us was a hundred dollars over what we needed to pay of the rest of our debt. Amazing.  We were stunned and humbled.  God is AMAZING.  He took care of everything.

We couldn't wait to tell our kids.  They have been praying with us all along, and it was so much fun to be able to show them how God answered our prayers in such an obvious way.

Do any of you have stories like this one?  Maybe not financial, but ways that God obviously answered your prayers in a very clear way.  I would love to hear them.

Ernesto

First "storm" of the season.  It went to the south of us and was never a hurricane.  When they go to the south, we always have lots of big waves!  This was yesterday.

I love walking on the beach when it is like this!
